The Chesky family invites you to cut your own Christmas tree at Sugar Creek Tree Farm. We are family owned and operated. Located in southeast Wisconsin near Alpine Valley, we offer 32 acres with thousands of beautiful trees available for your selection. Our scenic wilderness location is our specialty, with friendly service and fair prices.

We are open every day from the day after Thanksgiving thru Christmas Eve, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Colorado Blue Spruce are found growing the width of North America. It is a northland tree found throughout the lake-studded Canadian Shield and northern United States. Its delicate blue-green foliage with needles about one-half inch in length is very appealing. Given proper care, this tree exhibits good needle retention and is popular in harvest plantations. Its excellent form and colour make it an exceptional Christmas Tree.

Black Hills Spruce is a strain of white spruce. Spanning the entire width of North America, this spruce is a decidedly Northland tree found throughout the lake-studded Canadian Shield and northern United States. Its delicate, blue-green foliage, with needles about one-half inch in length, is very appealing. Given proper care, this tree also exhibits good needle retention and can be found most often in a choose & harvest plantation. Its excellent form and color make it an exceptional Christmas tree.

Canaan fir is a needled evergreen tree in the pine family found in the high elevation mountains of West Virginia, Virginia, and the northern most eastern states into Canada. It is similar to Fraser and balsam firs with in both appearance and growth rate.

The Concolor fir (sometimes known as the White fir) has a stately and symmetrical form and holds ornaments well. Its needles are typically blue-green and, in some cases, can be a dramatic powder blue. The needles of the Concolor fir are longer than most other firs commonly grown for Christmas trees, giving it a coarser appearance. Concolor needles have a unique and pleasant scent that is usually described as “citrusy” or “orange-like.”

The Fraser fir is quickly becoming the most premium species of the cut Christmas tree market. The Fraser has many desirable characteristics. The most notable feature of the tree is its amazing needle retention; colloquially referred to as the "no shed" tree. Also characterized by a heavy density; with rich colors of platinum silver and deep hues of blueish green that shimmy in the wind.

Scotch Pine is known as the cosmopolitan tree of Europe. This conifer was one of the first plantation grown Christmas Trees in North America. Its sharp blue-green foliage with needles about two to three inches in length can be sheared to an appealing density. Its conical shape, excellent color and needle retention has made it the tree of choice for many years.

White Pine can be found widely distributed throughout the forests of eastern North America. It has soft, lacy blue-green foliage with needles about three to four inches in length. A very graceful looking evergreen, its fragrance and excellent needle retention has made it a popular Christmas Tree for many years, especially in the traditional south.

What are your COVID-19 protocols?

Your experience at Sugar Creek Tree Farm is entirely outdoors. It will be easy for you to socially distance. We sanitize saws for each use.

When do you open for the season?

We are open from the day after Thanksgiving all the way through Christmas.

What are your hours of operation?

Our hours of operation are 8 am - 4:30 pm

Do you provide bailing?

Yes, we provide baling services on the weekends and the Friday after Thanksgiving. We also provide twine for tying trees to your vehicle or trailer.

Do you have saws?

Yes, we provide hand saws but you are welcome to bring your own saw if you would like.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash or check

Do you have refreshments?

Yes. We have hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and cookies available during our weekend hours.

Are your Fraser Firs pre-cut?

Yes, our Fraser Firs are cut and delivered to us from Black River Falls shortly before Thanksgiving. They are premium quality and some of the best Fraser Firs you will find anywhere. They hold their needles very well past Christmas.
